FAQ

Here at student rooms, we provide fully furnished accommodation. Unless your furniture can fit amongst the furniture we provide, it cannot be brought.
This is because in our experience people wouldn’t casually leave a tap running, the gas stove on, but people often forget to turn lights or electrical items off, we like to also save the environment and a little accountability helps this.
The cleaners come fortnightly to do all common areas (not inclusive of dishes, this is the individual housemates responsibility). The gardeners come as required to keep the garden well maintained.
We ask for two to four weeks bond, one to two weeks advanced rent – depending on the type of property. We do referee checks on all potential housemates and we take rent via direct debit, so you need an Australian bank account. We will also do an in office meeting/interview to ensure we have all quality housemates.
As we deal with student accommodation we generally do 12 month lease terms to stay in line with student terms, so our leases end in February and July.
You will be living with students from around Australia all over the world – about 40% of housemates are local ‘Aussies’. They have all been reference checked and we like to get to know our housemates so we can ensure who we put into that house will be a great fit with them, though u generally won’t get to meet them prior to moving in, our screening process will ensure you are a good fit for that house and in our meeting, we will tell you about who is in the house. We have all mixed gender / nationality houses.
Yes, you are required to continue paying as per your contract terms.
